So I finally succumbed to the outstanding reliance on a touch screen phone. At first use of the Storm I was unimpressed and I thought to my self why go through the fight of learning a complicated gadget all over again. (previous phone BB 8830 World Edition). If you had such a phone and purchase this one then you know what I mean.

For those of you that have any other phone if you have keys forgot about them, the storm has 5 main buttons and 6 auxiliary buttons. The 5 main buttons include a “click screen”, the standard green call button, the BlackBerry button, clear button and the red end call button.

Update March 23, 2009 at 7:45 PM. SO I have had the storm for little over a month and have not returned it. There are some really bad annoyances and disclaimers that I would like to talk about:

Pros:

  • I have recently figured out exactly how work the camera without too much delay in it.
  • I love the huge screen and the fact that movies and music play rather well.
  • I love that I can play bluetooth through my car and listen to music from my cell-phone
  • I like that it came with 8GB micro SD card and the global card
  • Got new leaked OS software: UPDATE 06/01/09: NEW OS LEAKS HERE!
  • Great software for the most part, some that I recommend:
  • Slacker radio
  • Viigo
  • Weatherbug
  • Google Maps
  • Facebook
  • Berrystore
  • Nickel Buddy (for those really tough decisions)

    • OK that’s enough for now on the pros part:

    Cons:

  • The Battery life SUCKS!!!! (due to HUMONGOUS screen) on any given day lasts 4 hours maybe if used for that time.
  • When playing music on bluetooth with slacker radio when next song comes on bluetooth shuts off. (really annoying when driving have to reset the bluetooth radio.)
  • O and WHY get rid of the TRACK BALL!
  • another why change the charger cord from mini USB to micro USB (really lame if you ask me)
  • Going from landscape to portrait view very slow and sometimes not working at all

    • Other than that I still think it is a decent phone and I am learning to love it..
