I have developed a plugin that adds to quicktags to your page/post editor… Very simple and effective..
The HTML Encoder button will take code that you want to be displayed on your page such as:
Specifically for my purposes and makes a code box like so:
[html_encoded][mp3_embed playlst="http://www.thomasnorberg.com/wp-content/plugins/mp3-player-plugin-for-wordpress/mp3/Rob%20Dougan%20-%20Clubbed%20To%20Death%202%20(MATRIX).mp3" colors="#900345" id="1" nums="1" ][/html_encoded]

The MP3 Embed button lets you make the mp3 shortcode easier so less confusion with the bracket coding.
